Blichmann Beer Gun Bottle FillerThe
Blichmann Beer Gun is the easiest way to fill beer bottles. The most common use
for a Beer Gun is to move previously kegged and carbonated beer into bottles. It can also be
used to move beer from a fermenter to the bottle, provided the fermenter
pressure can be raised slightly with CO2.
Since many people have draft system parts laying
around the house, the various parts are sold separately. Everything on this page
is required, so if you don't have it, you will need to purchase it.
What you need to use the beer gun:
CO2 Source: You will
need a CO2 Cylinder with a regulator. The regulator has to be split to provide 2
CO2 sources, as shown below. You can use the same system that you use with your
draft system providing you modify it for dual outputs as shown below.
Beer Gun Accessory:
This optional accessory kit provides everything you need to get your BeerGun up
and running! A liquid ball-lock disconnect, a 5ft length of hose for your CO2
line with 1/4" stainless flare connectors on each end, one stainless 1/4"
disconnect and stainless clamp (for the 10ft beer hose that comes with the
BeerGun), and a brass 1/4" NPT X 1/4" flare adapter for connecting to the CO2
valve on the BeerGun. Requires a spare CO2 port and shutoff valve on your
regulator.
CO2
Splitter: You will need to add an additional CO2 output to your existing
regulator. That will require a "Y" fitting and a shutoff valve as shown. These
are very easy to install. Just remove your regulator from the tank and unscrew
the shutoff valve. Screw the shutoff valve into the "Y" adapter, and add the
additional shutoff valve that you purchased. Then screw the assembly into the
regulator. You should use teflon tape on all of the joints. Teflon tape is
available at all hardware stores.
